3-ти март е...

On this day every year, we Bulgarians quieten down, bow down and pay tribute and respect to the sacrifice of thousands of our ancestors in the name of free Bulgaria. At the cost of this sacrifice, Bulgaria exist today. Our Bulgaria – that of Levski and Botev, that of Stefan Karadzha and Hadji Dimitar, the one who maintained his national identity, did not change his self-consciousness and did not bow his head to the enslaved yataghan. Because during the years of slavery, the Bulgarian preserved his centuries-old traditions, preserved his mores, customs, rituals and eventually kept his language and faith. He did not lose touch with the land, which was saturated in tears of pain and tribulation, with the blood of sons and daughters who put the love of the Motherland above love for themselves. Today, our sacred duty is addressed to all of them, paying homage to them, let us show with mind and heart that they have not died in vain. So, bequeathing to our children the right and the obligation to call themselves "Bulgarians", our nation shows that she has deserved its freedom and that has a historical memory with whom can be proud of.
